Open Safari (the blue compass). Visit stpaulshobonier.com/church-alerts/. If you opened it inside another app, copy the link and paste it into Safari’s address bar.
Tap Share — the square with an arrow pointing up. Depending on your Safari layout, first open the Page Menu, then choose Share. Tap the page to reveal hidden browser controls.
Scroll down the Share menu and tap Add to Home Screen. If it is missing, scroll to Edit Actions and add it there.
Use the name Church Alerts. If you see Open as Web App, leave it switched on. Tap Add to finish.
Return to your iPhone Home Screen. Find the dark Church Alerts icon with the gold cross and tap it. Continue from this icon to enroll your phone.
Tap Get Church Alerts, then Allow on the notification prompt. When enrollment succeeds, tap Send a test to this device. Look for the test notification.
Still seeing Home Screen instructions? Close Safari and launch the new Church Alerts icon. If it opens as a regular browser tab, add it again and keep Open as Web App on if that option appears.
Pressed Don’t Allow? Open iPhone Settings → Notifications → Church Alerts and enable Allow Notifications. Then reopen the Church Alerts icon and try enrolling again.
No test notification? Check your internet connection and notification settings. Focus or Do Not Disturb can silence alerts. A test accepted by the service does not confirm that your phone displayed it.
Only the Home Screen icon was added? Finish step 6. Adding the icon alone does not subscribe your phone.

Follow these four steps in Chrome. You do not have to install an app or add a Home Screen icon to receive Android browser notifications.

Open Chrome on your Android phone. Visit stpaulshobonier.com/church-alerts/. If this link opened inside Facebook, email, or another app, use its menu to open the page in Chrome. Use a regular tab, not Incognito.
Wait for the gold Get Church Alerts button to become available, then tap it once. No church account, Google Calendar sign-in, email address, or phone number is needed.
When Chrome asks whether this website may send notifications, choose Allow. If Android also asks you to allow Chrome notifications, allow them so Chrome can deliver the church alerts. The exact prompt may vary by phone.
After enrollment succeeds, tap Send a test to this device. Swipe down from the top of your screen to check your notifications. This test is sent only to your enrolled device.
No permission prompt? In Chrome, open the three-dot menu → Settings → Site settings → Notifications. Find the church website and allow notifications, then return here and try again.
Chrome notifications are off? In your phone Settings, open Apps → Chrome → Notifications and allow them. Menu names vary by Android phone.
No test appeared? Check internet access, Do Not Disturb, and your phone’s notification settings. A test accepted by the service does not confirm that your phone displayed it.
Optional Home Screen icon: In Chrome’s three-dot menu, choose Add to Home screen or Install app if offered. This shortcut is optional; enabling notifications is the important step.
To stop alerts: Return to this page in the same browser and tap Turn off church alerts.
Notification settings: Google Chrome’s Android help.
Notifications require internet access and permission on each device. Delivery can be delayed by phone settings or network conditions. Check the church website for the latest information.
We store a browser subscription and security keys to deliver alerts. Unsubscribing removes that registration from the church website. Your browser’s push provider handles notification delivery.
